Greater Auckland director Matt Lowrie says told Heather du Plessis-Allan it's about making it easier for people to get around.

"A lot of international research is showing is that if you make it easier to drive, ultimately more people do that and therefore you get more congestion and more emissions and it makes it harder for people to walk and cycle in their communities."

Good god. What the actual f***?
